About
Hi and Good Day!
I’m Marilou (short for Maria Lourdes), born and raised in the Philippines and migrated to the United States of America in September of 2000 through an immigrant visa for a spouse of a U.S. Citizen.
I’m married to Hornilo G. San Ramon from the province of Sicmil in Gigmoto, Virac, Catanduanes. I was blessed with two wonderful sons, Philip Roman 21, and Hornilo JR 20.
I started working as a scholar assistant at Lyceum of the Philippines University Main Library in my freshman year (while taking a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration) until graduated. Upon graduation, I was offered a full-time job by the same institution to work at the library as a library assistant. While working, I was chosen as one of the scholars of the Fund for Assistance to Public Education (FAPE) and was honored to receive a full-ride scholarship to graduate school to attend a Master of Arts in Library and Information Science at Centro Escolar University, Manila, Philippines.
My life at Lyceum of the Philippines University was Phenomenal. From Student Scholar to Library assistant to Assistant Chief Librarian to Chief Librarian. Also, during that time, I was offered to be a part of the faculty members of the College of Business Administration teaching Marketing and Management classes in the evening. In all modesty, I was awarded the first recipient of the “Model Employee of the Year” of the same institution. The trust, belief, and respect of the administration of this institution to me was outstanding and I’m grateful for them.
After 20 years of service at Lyceum of the Philippines University, I have to leave to migrate to the United States of America to start my own family.
